So we had a meltdown today at lunch.
When I took his airplane away (after having asked and told him 7 times to take it back upstairs, I was trying to clean to get stuff ready for HIS birthday party. He turns 9 Saturday.) He freaked out. After the screaming and crying was done, he looked at me and said that he wished I would just go back to America.

Ouch.
Love it. .

Aww sweetie..that's just his one and only way of lashing out at you. Please don't take it to heart..from what you've posted he loves you he was just mad. I know it don't make you feel any better about it all.. but just try and stand your ground and head high. Kids say mean things.. I know I've had my share with my own son..so here's a hug for ya and maybe talk to Richard about it.

I know he didnt mean it, but ouch. He couldnt remember why he said it, only that he did.

I agree. I know how those things can become habit. Make sure he knows why he should not say things like that.
