Since I've had this song stuck in my head for almost a week, I thought that I would share it with you all. Lyrics to follow.

Thanks for posting this. I found it very interesting to listen to, mainly because even though I couldn't understand the words, it *sounded* familiar. It was almost like a midwestern american accent, only with different words. I guess I was expecting something a little more different. For instance, french has a very nasal tone, so that not only the words are different, but the sound of it is different as well. Even people from India, though they may speak perfectly grammared English, still have an intonation and cadence so different that it sometimes takes me a few moments to realize that they are speaking my language. Listening to the Dutch was kind of the opposite, I thought it sounded like my language, and took me a few moments to realize I couldn't understand the words.

I love Dutch music, I can send you some more if you are interested. The speaking cadence is very similar as well. It's part of what is confusing me about learning the language. I love the challenge it presents but at the same time, I'm not getting a lot of help with it from Richard.
I'm starting to get it, but sometimes I wonder if I'll ever really understand it.

I've heard that immersion in the language after going to the country in questions helps a lot.
