What you've all been waiting for?...

Okay so today was the most insanely busy day I've had at work to date. As I am decompressing I will share with those who wish to read more about my trip to the Netherlands, more about my trip!
Day 1 ish
This could have been an easier trip to make, I would have loved for the travel to be easier on me. I was delayed in Chicago O-Hare by the weather, the lightning in the rainstorm that hovered over us for about an hour. I would have been glad to watch it had it not been that I was waiting for a plane to take off. The flight was uneventful after that. I missed my connection in Heathrow to Schiphol. We were landing as it was taking off and I swear we rode by it on the runway. Other people on my flight who had missed connections commiserated with me as we waited for the platform to be fixed so we could get off the darned plane. I got a new flight that left at the time I was supposed to arrive in Amsterdam. I wasn’t THAT late, but my brain was gone.
Baggage and Customs are very easy entering Amsterdam it seems they don’t much care about much of anything. You can just walk out the green door, without any security officers there. I had seen him before I exited the door, and I was only scared for a few seconds about meeting him. I’ve known him for ~10 years after all and we’ve never met.
God.
I have been waiting so long for that moment, seeing him light up with that smile when he saw me. He gave me a teddy bear, a big brother to the one he sent me last year. It’s so cute! I snuggled it all the way home. Then of all the things to do he lifts my chin and whispers to me “Can I kiss you?” Melted my heart, I’ve never had anyone ask permission before. Not like that. The kiss was…painfully good. Excuisite comes later and in a different level of filter. The whispered “finally” after the kiss was everything I hoped it would be and just made it better. I was so tired when I got there, so I fear I was terrible company. He will say differently I am sure. A bottle of water and some generic conversation later we are getting on the train that will eventually leave us in Oldenzaal. I of course tried to look out the window to enjoy the prettyfullness, but I end up dozing off against his shoulder. I was not amused with myself for falling asleep but, he seemed to enjoy the fact so I won’t complain too loud. I was about to ask how long I’d been sleeping when he tells me exactly that. Brain went “huh”…because I’m the one who reads people like that, there’s not a soul that can do it to me…or so I thought. I am in fact incorrect. That realization felt amazing. The parts of the country that I saw were just gorgeous, go figure since there's so much history in the land...That could be a whole nother story I think. Lots of itty bitty ponies, and daffodyls. So we ended up in a little town, and I loved it from sight 1. Picked up his bicycle and walked to the hotel. It had an almost illuminated piece of artwork in it which truly captured my intrest. Yeah. It was purty. Puttered around there for a while till it was time for food. How is it that at all of my first dates I end up at Italian restaurants? The food though, was wonderful. Wonderful enough that I could not finish it.
We walked around town for a bit and then retired to the hotel for some much needed sleep.
More about the rest later...
