Success!

The Diane through the use of her awesome intellect (oh don't laugh THAT much) has finally after 2 weeks of suffering in the cold, discovered WHY her apartment is so cold. The window that holds the AC unit, the one that has been permanantly installed that was once closed is now open. I do not know how this came to be but I do know that I could not manage to get it to close.

Since it does not have a screen, that is how the birds have been getting in.

Quick and dirty fix... 4 Air packs that you use to pack fragile items in for mailing, One roll duct tape retrieved from armor bag. Apply tape first to packs and then liberally to window, sealing the cracks.

MUST fix, but the temporary fix will do for now.
It is already warmer.
